About & privacy

Who makes this, how it's funded, and what happens to your data. Short version: no data happens.

What this is

AI Cost Base is a free, independent set of cost calculators for people building on AI APIs. It is funded by advertising and referrals — some links may earn us a commission at no cost to you. Commissions never affect the math: the calculators are formula-first, sources are stated, and any rate you can't see the source for is editable by design.

Privacy

All calculators run entirely in your browser. Numbers you type are never transmitted to us or anyone else — there is no account, no login, and no server-side session. Standard, anonymous analytics may be used to count page visits.

Accuracy & corrections

Model prices change frequently; this site re-fetches them daily and stamps every page with the data date. Non-token rates are estimates marked with their basis — if you spot an error, it is a feature request we actually want: tell us which number, which page, and your source.
